Established 40 years ago, Transworld specialises in helping small and medium size business owners to exit their business, and investors from first time buyers to strategic investors to acquire and invest in businesses through training and marketing support to its clients.
The sponsorship forms part of a wider partnership with RL Cares that will see Transworld offer its expertise and mentoring prowess to players seeking to forge new careers in business away from sport.
Transworld will be represented on the Ride to Wembley by its UK Managing Director, Henry Ziff, who will join 22 other riders on a challenging 340-mile off-road cycling challenge from Huddersfield to the 2019 Coral Challenge Cup final.
Chris Rostron, the Head of RL Cares, said: “We are delighted to announce Transworld as an associate sponsor of the Ride to Wembley and are looking forward to forging some wonderful memories for Henry that will last a lifetime.
“Our partnership with Transworld is very exciting for the charity and will allow us to provide a valuable service to the playing community. Starting a new business, or buying into an existing one, can be a daunting process but players can now benefit from Transworld’s significant knowledge and experience in this area.”
Henry was raised in Leeds by a family with a strong business heritage across Yorkshire and the UK: his grandfather Arnold was a respected philanthropist whose business interests included Stylo shoes and property development, interests that were continued by Henry’s father and uncle.
A lifelong fan of Leeds Rhinos and Leeds United, Henry is looking forward to riding alongside some Rugby League legends, including Keith Senior, Denis Betts and Robbie Hunter-Paul, on the Ride to Wembley.
“Sport always formed a large part of my life growing up in Yorkshire and I’m very aware what Rugby League means to the communities in which its played and the amazing heroics of its players,” said Henry.
“Transworld is privileged to have the opportunity to work with Rugby League players and help them forge successful new lives outside rugby.
“Our unofficial motto is helping ‘good people do good deals’ and that’s what we will bring to the players.
“The Ride to Wembley is a brilliant way to begin what I am sure will be a hugely successful partnership with RL Cares, even though it’s going to be a massive challenge for me.
“I’ve never done anything like this before: 340 miles on a bike is a long way, especially when the route goes across fields and over some crazy hills, but it’s for a great cause and I’m really looking forward to it.”
The gruelling route features over 18,000ft of ascent – the equivalent of cycling uphill from sea level to Everest basecamp – and sees the challenge cross the Pennines, the Peak District, the Cotswolds and the Chiltern Hills as it wends its way south from the George Hotel, Huddersfield, to Wembley Stadium.
