Our work

Our work

Rugby League is statistically safer to play today than at any other time in the sport’s history. But, sadly, accidents do happen, and when they do, that’s where the Rugby League Benevolent Fund steps in.

Established in 2005, the RL Benevolent Fund provides lifelong support to the players, and the families of players who have experienced life-changing events on the field of play.

We support, assist and guidance in many different ways, including:

  • * Fundraising
  • * Vehicle adaptations
  • * Housing modifications
  • * Education and re-training
  • * Social events

Our commitment to the players whose lives will never be the same again through playing the sport they love is unfaltering.

We can only do what we do with the support of the wider Rugby League family and organisations like the Steve Prescott Foundation, which has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to support our work.
