Transition programme

Transition programme

The journey out of the sport at the end of their playing careers can often be difficult for rugby league players – but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Rugby League Cares offers a range of grants and awards that are designed to encourage players to gain the academic or vocational qualifications needed to become as successful off the pitch as they were on it.

We also provide access to professional careers advice for the whole playing community, and can signpost former players to support services once their new business or career is up and running.

Our transition programme also features a number of annual events for recently retired players, including the Warriors Challenge, a fantastic weekend adventure that rekindles the dressing room banter that all former players miss.

If you are a current or former player and need advice or support on your next move, or want more information about our next transition event, please contact our Transition Manager Francis Stephenson – Francis.stephenson@rlcares.org.uk
