The Rugby League Lions Association was founded in 1946 when the players who had represented England or Great Britain on tours of the Southern Hemisphere came together for a reunions lunch.
Since then, the annual Lions lunch has become a hugely popular feature of the Rugby League calendar, bringing together generations of the greatest players ever to play the sport.
The Lions Association and its partners Ellis Rugby generously donates all the proceeds of its annual luncheon to the RL Benevolent Fund, a wonderful example of the all-time greats putting something back into the sport they graced with such distinction.
