Leaving the sport is never an easy time for Rugby League players, many of whom struggle to fill the void left by the loss of the camaraderie and dressing room banter they enjoyed during their playing careers.
As well as working with players to ease the difficult transition from playing to life after rugby, Rugby League Cares has established a successful reunions programme which aims to reconnect players with the sport and their former team-mates.
We hold a hugely popular past players and officials-only reunions luncheon every year when the stars of yesteryear come together to enjoy an afternoon that few attendees ever want to end!
RL Cares also works with the Past Players’ Associations at professional clubs and encourages the sharing of best practise to ensure that former heroes do not lose touch with friends and the game they served with such distinction.
Details of the next RL Cares Reunions luncheon will be posted here once we have confirmation of venue, date and time.
