Heritage Quay

Heritage Quay

No sport has a richer history than Rugby League – and it is that heritage which has helped build a sport that will thrive in the 21st century and beyond.

Many of the records, artefacts and memorabilia from the game’s past are housed at Heritage Quay, a state-of-the-art archive management facility within the main campus at the University of Hudderfield.

Rugby League Cares’s Heritage Programme is committed to conserving the sport’s past and enabling the widest access to our heritage. The material stored at Heritage Quay is available to researchers in the Rugby League community and the public at large.

Between 2012 and 2017, £2m from the Heritage Lottery Fund alongside funding from the University of Huddersfield was invested in the creation of Heritage Quay to provide world-leading accommodation for customers and for archives.

Individual researchers can explore the online cataloguevisit the searchroom to use archives – or if you are unable to visit, use Heritage Quay’s copying services.
