Community Game Raffle to boost Rugby League’s grassroots in 2018

Rugby League’s most profitable fundraising venture, the Community Game Raffle is back – and for 2018 it’s bigger and better than ever before.

Run by Rugby League Cares, the raffle has raised over £400,000 for community Rugby League clubs in the last 10 years and is set to invest even more into the grassroots this year with some amazing prizes, including a spectacular dream holiday for two to Australia.

RL Cares has teamed up with Protect My Income to sponsor the 2018 Community Game Raffle, and both organisations will be working with Rugby League teams, clubs and associations to help them raise much-needed funds.

Participating clubs and teams get to keep 70p from every £1 ticket sold with 30p going to RL Cares to cover the administration costs of the raffle.

Chris Rostron, the Head of Rugby League Cares, said: “We are delighted that Protect My Income have agreed to become headline sponsors of the Community Game Raffle and are looking forward to working with them on this fantastic initiative.

“Money raised by previous Community Game Raffles has done so much good at grassroots level and I am sure community clubs across the country will take this opportunity to get involved.”

Tracy Herbert from Protect My Income said: “Protect My Income are delighted to become partners of Rugby League Cares and are looking forward to working with grassroots clubs and teams to help them raise funds through the 2018 Community Game Raffle.

“The prize packages are guaranteed to appeal to every Rugby League supporter.  With a lot of hard work, energy and enthusiasm our aim is to help create a bigger and better Community Game Raffle, generating record amounts for all the clubs involved.

“We wholly respect the values of Rugby League Cares and their tireless work within the Rugby League community: Protect My Income are privileged to be part of the team.”

As well as the headline prizes of state-of-the-art electronics, experiential adventures and the dream holiday of a lifetime, there will also be monthly draws for the chance to win tickets to big games and other merchandise.
