Rugby League Cares appoints Oxen as the charity’s apparel supplier

Rugby League Cares is delighted to announce Oxen as the charity’s official apparel supplier.

Oxen will produce the kit and uniforms worn by all RL Cares staff, including the dedicated team of current and former players who deliver our hugely successful health and wellbeing programmes in rugby league communities.

The prestigious sports clothing brand are also creating a bespoke range of RL Cares-branded apparel that will be available to purchase by members of the public. The new range will be launched in June on the Oxen website.

And to celebrate the new partnership and their commitment to the charity and its work, Oxen have generously donated all the on- and off-bike kit for the riders taking on our toughest-ever fundraising challenge, le Tour de Rugby League Cares.

Over six epic days in June, 15 riders will cycle across France via the Pyrenees and through French rugby league towns and cities in Oxen-branded jerseys inspired by one the sport’s most iconic designs, the Great Britain RL jersey.

The riders, who include RL Hall of Famer Adrian Morley, ex-Great Britain three-quarter Nathan McAvoy, former Super League referee Thierry Alibert and France RL Federation vice-president Patrick Pedrazzani, are also being supplied with Oxen T-shirts and casual tops to wear when recovering between stages of the ride.

RL Cares Partnership Manager Nav Uppal said: “I would like to welcome Oxen as our official apparel supplier and am looking forward to growing our partnership with this highly-regarded brand.

“I am sure the new range of RL Cares-branded apparel will be well received by rugby league fans who are great supporters of the charity and its work.

“On behalf of all the riders and everyone involved in le Tour de Rugby League Cares, I would like to thank Oxen for their generous gift of cycling jerseys and casual wear for the ride.  The jerseys, in particular, are striking and will make a huge impression during the 500-mile ride across France.”

Lee Jenkinson, Chief Executive of Oxen, said: “We are delighted to have secured our new partnership with Rugby League Cares which has huge potential for both Oxen and the charity.

“There is already a great synergy between our two brands, which are both respected and well established across rugby league communities, and we are looking forward to working with the charity.

“RL Cares does a fantastic job supporting people of all ages and backgrounds and we know how important it is that it raises the funds needed to do what it does so well.

“That’s why we were keen to support le Tour de Rugby League Cares by supplying the kit for what looks to be an incredible challenge. All the team at Oxen would like to wish everyone involved in the ride bon chance.”

100 per cent of the funds raised by the riders on le Tour de Rugby League Cares will help us to continue making a positive difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in communities where rugby league is played.
