Rugby League Cares is delighted to announce that Yorkshire Boilers have become an associate sponsor of the charity’s biggest fundraising venture of 2019, the UK Red Ride to Wembley.
The Wakefield-based company have committed their support to the ride for the third successive year and will again be represented on the 340-mile off-road cycling adventure by Managing Director James Elston.
James has taken the long road to the Challenge Cup final for the last two years and is looking forward to saddling up in August when participants will take a circuitous route from the George Hotel, Huddersfield, to Wembley.
“Yorkshire Boilers are proud of our association with Rugby League Cares and delighted that we have this opportunity to help raise funds for a charity which does so much good work in the sport,” said James.
“The Ride to Wembley was a fantastic experience in both 2017 and 2018 and I’m really looking forward to another tough but fun-filled week with some amazing people.”
Yorkshire Boilers is part of the Green Yorkshire group and is a leading provider of new and replacement boilers. Yorkshire Boilers also carries out boiler servicing, boiler repairs and boiler relocation, and installs energy saving solar panels.
The UK Red Ride to Wembley is an off-road cycling challenge that will see 23 riders avoid tarmac wherever possible on a route that follows canal towpaths, forest trails, green lanes and bridleways through the heart of England.
Setting off from the George Hotel, the historic birthplace of Rugby League, on Monday August 19, the route crosses the Pennines and heads through the Peak District before meandering its way southwards via the Cotswolds and Chiltern Hills.
The riders are scheduled to arrive at the RL Legends statue at Wembley Stadium on Friday August 23, the eve of the 2019 Challenge Cup final.
The ride is sponsored by UK Red Security and Fire Systems, and Spec Ltd, and aims to raise £50,000 – last year’s ride raised over £30,000 for Rugby League Cares.
