We need your support to be able to continue enhancing the lives of people in communities wherever Rugby League is played.
The sports insurance specialists were supporters of the inaugural Ride to Wembley last year, when their Business Development Executive Amy Derham cycled the full 320 miles from Leeds to the national stadium.
This year will see a group of 20 riders, including Rugby League internationals, sponsors and RL Cares staff, aim to complete a testing 300-mile off-road cycle ride from Old Trafford to Wembley from August 20-24.
Riding along bridleways, forest trails and canal towpaths, as well as over meadows and ploughed fields, participants are guaranteed to experience one of the most memorable weeks of their lives on an epic journey to raise funds for RL Cares’s player welfare programme.
And, once again, Amy will saddle up to represent All Sport Insurance and help Rugby League Cares better last year’s fantastic fundraising total of £20,000.
Amy said: “All Sport Insurance are delighted to sign up as partners of the Ride to Wembley and I’m really looking forward to taking part in what will be another memorable challenge.
“I’ve not been told much about the route for this year, only that we have a massive first day riding from Manchester through the Peak District, which should be fun!
“Last year was an amazing experience and we had no hesitation in getting involved again once we learned the ride was back on. It’s great to have this opportunity to help the charity raise the funds it needs to provide Rugby League players with such a strong support network.”
Chris Rostron, the Head of Rugby League Cares, said: “I would like to thank Amy and everyone at All Sport Insurance for their support of the UK Red Ride to Wembley.
“All Sport Insurance are a fantastic partner of the charity and have forged some terrific links with the playing community. Their involvement in the Ride to Wembley cements those relationships and we’re thrilled that Amy will be joining us once again.”
All Sport Insurance follow title sponsors UK Red Fire and Security in signing up for the Ride to Wembley for a second year.
RL Cares welcomes interest from other companies who want to become involved in this challenging but fun-filled fundraising venture. The charity is also making available five places on the ride to Rugby League fans, who must be able to guarantee to raise a minimum of £2,000 each for RL Cares through sponsorship.
