RL Lions extend partnership with Ellis Rugby to 2026

The Rugby League Lions Association has agreed a new three-year agreement with Ellis Rugby to sponsor its annual reunion luncheon.

The agreement builds on a partnership established in 2018, when the rugby-inspired fashion company first became involved in this prestigious event.

The Lions reunion luncheon has taken place every years since 1945 and will next take place at The Edge in Wigan on Saturday January 27th 2024 when players and staff who have been involved in southern hemisphere tours and tournaments with Great Britain, England and, in the 1975 World Cup, Wales, will come together to celebrate their unique bond.

RL Lions Association secretary John Ledger said: “The Lions are delighted to extend this important relationship and are looking forward to working with Ellis Rugby’s managing director Kevin Ellis to make our reunion luncheon even more prestigious and memorable.

“With Kevin’s support, the Lions lunch has grown to become a real must-attend event, both for the Lions themselves and the guests who get to rub shoulders with some of the greatest players in the sport’s history.

“Our new agreement with Ellis Rugby will allow the event to continue to grow in stature.”

Kevin Ellis said: “We are delighted to continue our support for this great event.

“Ellis Rugby celebrates rugby league’s wonderful players, exceptional teams and classic matches through our vintage jersey collections. The retro 100 per cent cotton Rugby League Lions range is available on our website – www.ellisrugby.com.”

More than 300 tickets have already been sold for the 2024 reunion, which will see the Association celebrate two memorable milestones: the 50th anniversary of the 1974 Lions tour and the 40th anniversary of the 1984 tour.

A limited number of tickets for the RL Lions Association reunion luncheon at The Edge, Riveredge, Wigan, on Saturday January 27, are still available from Lions secretary John Ledger on 07762 967325 or john.ledger@rlcares.org.uk
