Rugby League Cares is delighted to announce the appointment of Nav Uppal as its first Partnerships Manager.
Nav will manage the relationships with the charity’s existing partners across commercial and health projects and be responsible for growing the partnership portfolio to enable RL Cares to enhance its support for the sport’s wider stakeholders.
A law graduate from Nottingham Trent University, Nav joins RL Cares with a brilliant track record in Rugby League, having held high-performing roles in both the UK and Australia
In 2022, Nav worked as Delivery Lead on the Rugby League World Cup after returning to the UK from Down Under, where she spent a year as Executive Assistant to former Labour NSW Senator, Kristina Keneally. She had previously worked at the NRL for more than five years alongside the Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Game Strategy.
Prior to her move to Australia, Huddersfield-born Nav spent four years working for the Rugby Football League in a variety of roles, including Salary Cap Administrator and Executive Assistant to the CEO.

Nav, who will be based at the charity’s office within the University of Huddersfield, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity and I’m delighted to be joining such a dedicated organisation which makes an enormous difference to the lives of people across rugby league communities,” said Nav.
“I’m very familiar with the work of the charity and, having worked alongside some of its officers in my previous jobs, know how passionate they are about what they do.
“I’m looking forward to meeting all our partners and to forging new relationships with companies involved in services and products which can complement the great work we do.”
