Riders urged to sign up for Cycle For Life in memory of Jordan Phillip

In Men’s Health Week 2024, Rugby League Cares is proud to support a fantastic health initiative led by Towards Zero Suicide CIC and The Jordan Legacy CIC.

On Friday, we will be providing back-up support to Cycle For Life, a 34-mile bike ride between Leeds and Wakefield in memory of Jordan Phillip, who took his own life in December 2019.

The Jordan Legacy aims to promote a ‘Zero Suicide Society’ via a range of activities including talks and presentations in schools, a fortnightly online radio show, help and support resources on its website and the development of a national action research project.

In 2024, The Jordan Legacy’s Zero Suicide Society Transformation Programme is being rolled out alongside the #JoinTheDots Tour, which brings together all the key stakeholders involved in suicide prevention and anyone else who wants to be part of the solution in a huge tour from the Humber to the Mersey.

Friday’s Cycle for Life ride is an inclusive event open to anyone who can ride a bike: starting from the Weetwood Hall Estate in Leeds at 10am, the riders will cycle past Jordan’s former home in Horsforth led by his father Steve, before making their way to Wakefield city centre for refreshments. From Wakefield, participants will head back to the start on a circular route, skirting around the centre of Leeds to regroup in the Lawnswood Bar at Weetwood Hall.
