The ManVan makes a magical return!

The ManVan is back!  Rugby League Cares is once again working in partnership with the Movember Foundation to bring the ManVan, a mobile health and wellbeing hub based around a 38-foot American-style motorhome, to major Rugby League events in 2019.

Last year the ManVan engaged with over 30,000 men at Rugby League events and we’re going back on the road this summer, starting with the Super League Magic Weekend at Liverpool’s FC Anfield Stadium.

The ManVan will be based in the Anfield Road Fanzone on both Saturday and Sunday and features a wide range of fun activities and lots of useful information designed to help men live longer and happier.

In the UK, men die an average six years earlier than women and many of the reasons for this shocking statistic are entirely preventable: the Movember Foundation and RL Cares aim to arm men with the tools and information they need to tackle this avoidable situation.

The ManVan will be staffed by our specially-briefed volunteers, many of whom have benefited from being involved in our hugely-successful men’s mental wellbeing programme Offload.

At Magic Weekend, fans will also have the opportunity to pick up some historic Rugby League programmes from the RL Cares archive: we have hundreds of duplicate programmes available for supporters to take away in exchange for a donation to the charity.

Copies of our latest 52-page newsletter, One In, All In detailing the work of the charity will also be available to take away for a small donation.

Rugby League Cares is proud to make a positive difference to the lives of people involved at every level of the sport: as an independent charity we are responsible for delivering player welfare to the professional and semi-professional game.

As well as helping players prepare for life after rugby, we are there for players when things go wrong, and are champions of the game’s rich heritage by preserving its vast collections and stories for future generations.
