Bev Risman

Rugby League Cares is saddened to hear of the death of one of the charity’s founding trustees, Bev Risman, who has passed away at the age of 85.

Bev was a passionate supporter of our work and played an important role in establishing RL Cares when it grew from the old RL Foundation.

As a former dual-code international, Bev championed the need for players past and present to be supported and encouraged, and was a strong advocate of the benefits of education and training.

Bev was also proud of the charity’s work in delivering the Wembley heroes statue, which celebrates five of the greatest players in the sport’s history, including his father, Gus, a member of the RL Hall of Fame.

Everyone at RL Cares would like to pass on our sincere, heartfelt thanks to Bev for his support and friendship, and extend our sympathies to Bev’s family.
