A Christmas message from Rugby League Cares

A Christmas message from Rugby League Cares

As the Rugby League family heads into Christmas and New Year, we have been reflecting on what has been an impactful 2021 for the whole team at Rugby League Cares.

Our community programmes continued to go from strength to strength in a year which saw us enter into a ground-breaking and very exciting new partnership with the NHS. ‘Rugby League Cares for NHS’ is providing much-needed support to the frontline heroes who are working so hard to keep our communities safe in these challenging times.

The programme is building on the success of Offload and Ahead of the Game, which have enhanced the lives of thousands of people of all ages over the last 12 months

Player welfare and wellbeing remained at the top of our agenda. Our support for the playing community is under constant review and this year we implemented a series of new initiatives that will see a greater focus on early, whole-person focused programmes in 2022. This will lay a platform for every professional and semi-professional player to build successful dual careers and enjoy fulfilling lives post-rugby.
Many challenges lay ahead as we look forward to 2022, although the charity is blessed with a truly extraordinary team of dedicated and talented people who will rise to whatever is put in our way.
On behalf of the trustees of the charity, I would like to thank all colleagues for their commitment and professionalism.

We would also like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all our partners and supporters. Without their generosity and assistance, our work would not be possible.
Finally, to all members of the wider Rugby League family, we would like to wish you a restful, enjoyable Christmas and happy healthy year in 2022.
