Take a Sneaky Peek at an amazing Rugby League trophy collection

Rugby League Cares is proud to announce that it is bringing together the most comprehensive collection of Rugby League trophies ever seen for a special event next month.

On Saturday August 11, the sport’s most treasured trophies past and present will be on display at Bradford City Hall as part of Sneaky Peeks, which features self-guided tours around the Grade 1-listed building in the heart of the West Yorkshire city.

The highlight of the trophy exhibition will be the Rugby League World Cup, which will sit next to the Betfred Super League trophy, the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup and the Baskerville Shield that will be contested by England and New Zealand in this autumn’s Test series.

For the first time, the current trophies will be alongside some famous retired trophies that fired the imaginations of Rugby League fans for the best part of a century.

These include the Rugby League Championship trophy, the Premiership Trophy, the Yorkshire and Lancashire Cups, the Regal Trophy, the BBC2 Floodlit Trophy and a selection of international trophies from the game’s past.

Fans can have their photograph taken with the trophy collection, as well taking a look around Bradford City Hall, the prospective home of the new Rugby League Museum subject to RL Cares and Bradford Council securing the necessary funding.

Chris Rostron, the Head of Rugby League Cares, said: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see a collection of trophies that have captured the imagination of Rugby League supporters for generations.

“These cups and trophies have been contested by the greatest players ever to play the sport in its 123-year history and we are looking forward to meeting fans at the Sneaky Peeks event at Bradford City Hall to hear their memories of these special sporting treasures.”

Sneaky Peeks at Bradford City Hall takes place on Saturday August 11 between 10.00am and 4.00pm.  Admission is free.
