Super League star Tara Moxon joins UK Red Empire State 500

Leeds Rhinos player Tara Moxon is the latest Rugby League star to sign up for the UK Red Empire State 500.

Papua New Guinea-born Tara will join 17 other riders on the epic challenge, a 520-mile cycle ride from Niagara Falls to New York City in June, raising money for Rugby League Cares.

She will ride alongside Super League and NRL legends including Adrian Morley, Keith Senior and Paul Wood on the six-day adventure, which begins on Sunday June 5.

“It’s going to be an incredible experience and I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to help RL Cares,” said Tara, who is currently sidelined from the Leeds squad by injury.

“I’ve never done anything like this before and would never describe myself as a cyclist, so I’m expecting it to be tough.

“It’s going to be brilliant cycling alongside Moz, Keith, Paul and the other riders, and I’m sure we’ll all help each other through it.

“RL Cares do lots of really important work helping some of the most vulnerable people in our communities and I hope people will support my efforts on the ride by sponsoring me.”

Tara is also doing valuable work with RL as a presenter on the charity’s mental fitness programme, Offload, which is changing – and in many cases, saving, the lives of thousands of people in Rugby League communities.
