It was meant to be our biggest and most ambitious fundraising adventure – and then Covid-19 came along…the UK Red Empire State 500 should have been an epic 500-plus mile cycle ride from the spectacular Niagara Falls to the world’s most famous city, New York
Leaving the falls on Sunday May 3, 23 brave riders, including Rugby League legends, planned to spend the next six days plotting a challenging off-road route along the Erie Canal, the Catskill mountains and the Appalachian Trail as they made their way to Manhattan.
The 2019 Ride to Wembley raised £40,000 for the charity: our goal in 2020 was to raise in excess of £50,000, all of which would have been used too fund our important work.
Every pound we raise helps us make a positive difference to people involved at every level of the sport, from its heroes, the players, through to the men involved in our health projects and the youngsters at grassroots level.
We are reviewing our fundraising activities for 2021 and 2022 in light of the pandemic – if you would like to join us on the adventure of a lifetime, either as a participant or sponsor, please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org
