2018 UK Red Ride to Wembley

On Monday August 20, 2018, 25 intrepid riders with Rugby League in their blood set out from Old Trafford, Manchester, bound for Wembley Stadium and the biggest date in the sport’s calendar – the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final.

Avoiding roads whenever and wherever possible, the riders cycled 300 tough miles through the heart of England over five gruelling days and raised an amazing £30,000.

UK Red Fire and Security were once again headline sponsors of the ride, which was also supported by Spec Ltd, All Sport Insurance, Yorkshire Boilers, Club Doncaster Foundation, Halfords, Infinity Works and NL Van, Car and Truck hire.

The riders included many true Rugby League legends, including ex-Kiwi international Robbie Hunter-Paul, recently retired Castleford Tigers skipper Andy Lynch, Wigan and Great Britain legend Mick Cassidy, Nathan McAvoy, Paul Highton and Gareth Ellis, the man who lifted the Challenge Cup trophy at Wembley as captain of winners Hull FC in both 2016 and 2017.
