MSC Nutrition fuels the UK Red Ride to Wembley

The 26 riders on the UK Red Ride to Wembley will benefit from cutting edge sports supplements on their 300-mile off-road adventure next week thanks to a partnership between Rugby League Cares and MSC Nutrition.

MSC Nutrition have devised a first-class fuelling strategy to help the riders complete an epic challenge that involves negotiating 300 miles along forest trails, green lanes, canal towpaths and bridleways.

The riders will be supplied with electrolytes to regulate nerve and muscle function, and hydrate the body; energy gels to provide an immediate energy source; and Maximise, a post-ride drink that helps promote muscle repair and, with the addition of Creatine, super-hydrates muscle cells.

Chris Rostron, the Head of Rugby League Cares, said: “We are delighted to welcome MSC Nutrition on board as a partner of the UK Red Ride to Wembley.

“MSC Nutrition supply world class athletes around the world and it’s fantastic that our riders will have access to their sports supplements to fuel them over the course of five grueling days.”

MSC Nutrition Director Nicky Edmonds said: “MSC Nutrition feel privileged and delighted to support Rugby League Cares. Along with the food provided, our supplements will ensure all the riders have a very good balanced diet on the Ride to Wembley.

“MSC Nutrition’s innovative sports products cover all stages of sporting activity to ensure superior performance and faster recovery.

“All the team at MSC Nutrition would like to wish the riders the very best of luck on the Ride to Wembley.”

The UK Red Ride to Wembley is a 300-mile off-road cycle ride in aid of the independent sports charity, Rugby League Cares. Twenty six riders will set off from Old Trafford, Manchester, on Monday August 20 bound for Wembley Stadium, avoiding tarmac roads wherever possible on a route that takes them over the Peak District and through the Cotswolds.

The riders include seven former Rugby League internationals – Mick Cassidy, Paul Highton, Robbie Hunter-Paul, Nathan McAvoy, Gareth Ellis, Andy Lynch and Chev Walker – plus sponsor representatives, media figures, RL Cares staff and members of the public.
